J&B Blended Scotch The history of J&B begins in 1749 when Giacomo Justerini, an Italian wine merchant, migrated to London to follow an opera singer, with whom he fell madly in love. He joined forces with an English merchant then serving the Royal House, then with Alfred Brooks in 1831. Renamed Justerini & Brooks, the company approached a Scottish merchant in order to produce a blend much softer than what we have. used to drink at the time. The brand takes off and is known in the United States. The original J&B is a blend of 42 Scotch malt whiskeys and grain.
